The Great Corsock Show is coming! On Saturday, 24th of August, this much-loved Stewartry tradition will allow the great and the good of home baking, crafting, scarecrow fashioning, vegetable growing and homemade drink brewing to cheerily pit their skills against each other.
The ‘Woodlands Plus’ project adds value to three local Woodlands
Dumfries & Galloway hosts a significant proportion of the United Kingdom’s commercial woodland creation schemes. With discussion ongoing on the national stage regarding land use change, the ‘Woodlands Plus’ project aims to add local value - employment, biodiversity or public access - to three forestry sites in the region.
Glaisters Bridge Community Woodland celebrates arrival of paths and trees!
Saturday 15th June was a milestone for the Glaisters Bridge Community Woodland Site, near Corsock. New paths have been cut enabling access around the site and 250 trees were planted by a band of volunteers.
Volunteers sought for the first tree planting day at the Upper Barr Community Woodland
Volunteers are sought to come and try their hand at tree planting, and can hear more about plans on the site. Tree Planting will be between 11am-3pm on Saturday 15th June, with light lunch provided for those on site at lunchtime!
Nature Connection at Lothlorien survey
Propagate has been asked by Lothlorien Therapeutic Community to carry out a feasibility study, looking at the potential for groups to use the land there for activities and workshops, and for a possible social prescribing scheme for day visitors
