2025 Great Corsock Show sets new records
Saturday 23rd August was a big day in Corsock, with the 2025 Great Corsock Show!
A new record was set with 353 entries across the 59 categories, showcasing baking, crafting and gardening talents. This was approximately 20% up on last year, with winners including a great mix of regular attendees and new faces!
The always popular BBQ was even better this year with a new BBQ, purchased thanks to a grant from the Glenkens Community Shop. The bottle stall and café joined this year by a plant sale and red squirrel table. Cups were awarded and a raffle held.
Judi Shaw from the show committee said:
“What a fabulous Great Corsock Show for 2025. This could almost be an acceptance speech at an awards ceremony as there are so many ‘thank you’ messages need to be given. I’ll keep it short so to the team, helpers, judges, show openers and all those entries it’s a great big thank you. Thank you also goes to the newly renovated garage who put out a sign to allow free parking on the day. A special big thank you for the grant from Glenkens Community Shop to buy a new BBQ - it made the day. It is always lovely to chat with folks you haven’t seen since the last Show and catch up with what is going on in and outwith the Village. It’s hard work but on the day you know it is well worth it. So now we look forward to next years celebration of the 20th Great Corsock Show, start making your plans for entries and we look forward to greeting you to our very special event.”
