Creating a nature restoration strategy for the Glenkens

Funded by Inspiring Scotland, Dalry Community Council is exploring the possibility of establishing Nature Networks in the Glenkens with the support of the Glenkens Community and Arts Trust (GCAT), the Land Use subcommittee and the GSA Biosphere.

The View Points project is a long term recording of land use changes over time, from fixed view points.

The Glenkens Pollinators Project will see around 120 fruit and nut trees being planted across gardens and community spaces, right across our area. This will create a nature network for nectar loving insects to thrive - boosting biodiversity while creating edible landscapes.

The Glenkens is a brilliant place to live for all ages. The people, the scenery, the opportunities for outdoor living, and the range of jobs available, all contribute to making this a place that many can’t imagine leaving.

Glenkens Food Month runs throughout September featuring a range of food-related events and activities from local producers, establishments and communities.
