Corsock Craft Fair’s 21st year

Corsock Craft Fair 2025

This Sunday 7th December, Corsock Village Hall will be buzzing with the excitement of the annual Corsock Craft Fair. In its 21st year, it has always been an extremely popular event, featuring many of the finest crafts people from across the region. This year again, it promises a wonderful lineup, offering an opportunity to purchase beautifully crafted objects and clothing from some of the leading makers in the country who have made this region their home.

Visitors will find jewellery by Natalie Vardey, Jo Gallant from Mossdale with bright and boldly designed cushions, and funky pants and slippers by Vicki from Standingstone Hill Sewing. There will be slipware ceramics by Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew, kiln formed glass by Amanda Simmons and coppice crafts by Jen Stephenson. Newcomer Mavi Hamali from Dumfries will be bringing her marbled notebooks and papers too.

There are two charity stalls this year with Sarah Ade representing the Afghan Schools Trust with glorious handmade carpets and Pippin and Fred Fitch, pupils at Springholm school selling their pottery brooches in aid of Castle Douglas food bank.

Of course, every year at the Corsock Craft Fair, visitors can enjoy hot drinks, a good chat, and a delightful array of homemade cake.

The splendid event that is Corsock Craft Fair returns this weekend to Corsock Village Hall. The first Sunday of December has become a regular date in the calendar for many of the region’s craftspeople and of course for all those who appreciate beautiful hand-made objects.

The fair is organised by glass artist Amanda Simmons and potters Doug Fitch and Hannah McAndrew, all Corsock residents themselves. The three have gathered a group of twenty local makers to exhibit at this year’s event and are excited to see the village hall filled with hand-made items and their creators and to welcome in the public to see and hopefully buy the work.

This is a lovely way to support the incredible, thriving community of craftspeople that live and work in Dumfries and Galloway.

Corsock Craft Fair happens on Sunday 7th December. 11am till 3pm.

Entry fee £1, includes tea and cake. Don’t forget to bring cash as not all the makers can take cards.
