The community council have now called a public meeting on 28th August to gauge public support for development of Parton Kirk.

Tracy Starks, of the Galloway Fisheries Trust (GFT), delivered a talk about the Trust's work in tackling Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) at Parton Village Hall on March 19th, as part of the Glenkens Community Spaces Network's 'Citizen Science' talks programme.

On 7th July, twenty guests got a guided tour of Glenlair House, the home of James Clerk Maxwell, and heard from volunteers that have been leading the ‘Building Biographies’ research project, investigating the history of stately homes across Galloway.
