The Pavilion opens at at Barwhillanty Estate
For Oscar and Maria Yerburgh, owners of Barwhillanty Estate, a long-held vision is finally set to open its doors at the end of May.
Set within the historic Walled Garden of their 5,000-acre family estate in the rolling hills of Dumfries & Galloway, The Pavilion is an exciting new events venue launching this May, welcoming weddings, supper clubs, exhibitions and musical experiences, shaped by local trades and rooted in its surroundings.
"The Pavilion is our flagship for sharing this special place we call home and welcoming people from near and far," says Maria. Oscar adds, "We wanted to create a beautiful space for weddings, celebrations and events that connects us to nature, in a venue that creates community. Our events programme is already shaping up to something exciting to shout about."
With a full calendar of events for 2026, the Pavilion opens with Flock, a large-scale open-air exhibition running 23-25th May, featuring the work of local ceramic artist, Frances Ross, alongside over 1,000 children from schools across the region, as part of the celebrated Spring Fling festival.
On Saturday 23rd May, the Barwhillanty Supper Club makes its debut from 5-7pm, with the talented Mr Pook in the kitchen. One of the region's most celebrated chefs, his presence makes this a very special and family friendly way to open. Tickets available directly through the Estate.
A new website is in development bringing together the Estate's full offering: event bookings, holiday cottages, fresh produce and an array of unique experiences, all in one place. Follow along on Instagram or Facebook for updates.
Spring has arrived in the hills. The family are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Estate this May, and beyond!
