The D&G Climate Hub, hosted by the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Partnership and part of the Scottish Government’s national network of community climate hubs, has launched a new funding programme which offers local charities and constituted groups up to £15,000 to support projects that help achieve climate resilience in Dumfries & Galloway.

Thursday 26th February saw over 75 people attend a celebration of seven years of community benefit funding from Glenkens & District Trust, in partnership with Foundation Scotland, with funds from Blackcraig and Windy Rig Wind Farms.

A celebration event is being held at Dalry Town Hall on Thursday 26th February to recognise the difference that the Glenkens & District Community Fund has made in supporting the hard work of volunteers and organisations over the last seven years.

To further its legacy, the Galloway Glens Scheme is operating a scheme of small maintenance grants to ensure that Galloway Glens funded projects can continue to deliver great outcomes for the communities they serve.

Blackcraig Wind Farm Community Fund Small Grants are available now to support activities to benefit Balmaclellan Community Council area.

Ten organisations in Dumfries and Galloway have been awarded over £80,000 from the Glenkens & District Community Fund.  The fund has now provided more than £1.5 million in grants since it launched in 2019, supporting a wide variety of projects across the Glenkens and district area.

July sees the launch of the 2025/26 Dumfries & Galloway Tree Planting Grant Scheme, offering support to small scale tree planting projects across the region.

Community Benefit Fund to provide long term benefit and create positive impact in local communities in the Glenkens and East Ayrshire.

The Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere (GSAB) Partnership has welcomed a new funding package from South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE).

The Galloway Glens Scheme came to an end in September 2023 after a fantastic 5 years supporting the communities of the Ken/Dee valley. The legacy of the Galloway Glens can be seen in many concrete ways, including a suite of new footpaths across the area and renewed community buildings and assets.

Application Forms for Grants are now available from the Charity Shop in Dalry. 

Corsock and Kirkpatrick Durham Community Council have received this year’s Blackcraig Windfarm Micro-grant funding and are now welcoming applications from within the Community Council area.

The second round of the Hub’s Seed Fund is now open to support community climate action in Dumfries & Galloway with grants worth up to £1000.

Grant Application Forms will be available to collect from the Shop from this week (Monday 15th April 2024).

The National Centre for Resilience (NCR) have launched a new fund to ensure that Community Councils can develop resilience plans to combat the effects of natural hazards such as flooding, wild fires and storms.

The South of Scotland Tree Planting project has just announced a new round of funding, with £120,000 available over the next 12 months to enable community groups, farmers and landowners
to plant around 15,000 landscape trees across the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.

The Glenkens Community Shop opened nearly eleven years ago, and is flourishing. So much so that we need a few more volunteers!
