Adam and Rachel
Adam and Rachel work at Galloway Activity Centre where they see every day the difference that being in the outdoors makes to peoples’ wellbeing.
The Centre works with young people, adults, and vulnerable people, giving people life experiences that they may not have had before.
The Centre takes on 35 to 40 young people each summer giving them a foot-in-the-door in outdoor careers. Adam started as a work placement at the Centre, chose to stay in the area and has now worked his was up to management.
“We’ve got loads of beautiful lochs that you can sail, windsurf, paddleboard, kayak on. There’s loads of hills, so you can obviously hill walk. There’s beautiful beaches. There’s beautiful forests for mountain biking. There’s just so much you can do around the area.”
