Office dog seeks new office human (Receptionist at GAC)

GAC Receptionist

This is Buoy, our very important receptionist. He’s great at greeting customers… but terrible at answering phones.

So we’re hiring -

Reception / Office Team Member – immediate start

The Galloway Activity Centre, Loch Ken

We’re looking for a friendly, bubbly individual to join our small office team this season. No experience needed – just a positive attitude, good chat, and a love of working with people (and dogs ).

You’ll be the first smile our customers see, from answering phones and emails to welcoming guests when they arrive. It’s busy, varied, sometimes a bit hectic… but we provide training, cake on hard days, and one of the best office views in Scotland.

Why this isn’t your average office job:

  • Lochside office (yes, really)

  • Early starts, early finishes (usually done by 4:30pm)

  • Access to boats & activity kit in your free time

  • Weekly staff adventures (biking, paddling, evenings on the water)

  • Dogs in the office (Buoy insists this is essential)

  • On-site accommodation available

You’ll be doing things like:

  • Greeting customers with a warm welcome

  • Answering phones & emails

  • Processing bookings & payments

  • Helping out with kitchen / shore duties when needed

  • Keeping reception tidy and happy

  • Being generally helpful and lovely

The important bits:

  • Full-time, seasonal (7 months)

  • July & August are full-on – no holidays then

  • Weekend work required

  • Own transport essential (no buses on Sundays)

  • Pay: £11–£13 per hour

  • Start date: 23rd February 2026

HOW TO APPLY (important!)

Please email Rachel or Adam - gac@lochken.co.uk with your CV and a short note about why you’d like to work with us.

If you want a summer job that feels more like an adventure than a desk… this might be your sign.

Buoy will be conducting informal interviews (aka demanding cuddles).
