Kitchen Assistants and an Assistant Kitchen Supervisor

Waterfront Café, Galloway Activity Centre | Spring/Summer 2026 (6-month contract)

Do you like food, people, and not being stuck in an office all summer? Can you survive a busy kitchen and enjoy cake? Then read on.

We’re looking for Kitchen Assistants and an Assistant Kitchen Supervisor to join our vibrant Waterfront Café team for Summer 2026. We serve a wide mix of customers — hungry school groups, families, course attendees and small groups popping in for coffee and cake.

What you’ll be doing (role dependent):

• Meal preparation & baking

• Cleaning & washing up (team effort, promise)

• Money handling

• Record keeping

• Serving customers

• Making sure we’re all compliant with health & hygiene regs

Assistant Kitchen Supervisor: helping lead shifts, support the team and keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Shifts & hours:

• Average 5 days a week

• Mostly daytime however late shifts usually finished by 5/6pm in summer

• Some evenings for pre-booked groups

• Weekend work included

What we’re looking for:

• Friendly, positive, customer-focused humans

• Experience not essential for Kitchen Assistant - full training provided

• Some kitchen experience preferred for Assistant Kitchen Supervisor

• Team players who can muck in when it’s busy
