Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way to get out the house, meet new people and give something back to the community. Most community groups are looking for help, ranging from being a charity trustee, helping with driving, stewarding in a community centre or doing admin. There is an opportunity to fit everyone; some are listed below.
Nursery roles
Due to a restructure we are pleased to be able to offer the following roles within our nursery setting based in Glenlochar.
Crossmichael and Parton Playgroup Practitioner
Crossmichael and Parton Playgroup are looking for enthusiastic practitioners to join their team in our after school setting.
Private carers needed
Looking for a team of private carers to assist lady to live independently in her own house in the Glenkens area.
Admin Assistant at Galloway Activity Centre
Do you own your own pencil case and get excited by stationary? Can you type at 500 words per minute whilst drinking a cup of tea, stroking the dog and filling in a booking form? Can you put up with the management's terrible sense of humour? If you answered yes to any, all or none of the above, then we're looking for you!
Volunteer needed to join the Pamela Young Trust board
The board currently comprises three Trustees and are looking to recruit a fourth. The term is for a minimum of five years. Responsibilities include attendance at four quarterly meetings per year, alongside active participation via email where necessary. Trustees are not remunerated.

Community Action Plan Steering Group members needed
The Glenkens & District Community Action Plan Steering Group is looking for some new members to help them in their work making sure that the CAP priorities are delivered across the Glenkens.

We are seeking two local, caring individuals to make up a team of four and provide support to a lovely young lady with autism and learning difficulties who is wheelchair dependent, as well as assisting her mother with daily chores.

We are seeking drivers with and without D1 on their licence (dependent on vehicle size), and we are looking for folk who would be willing to do a combination of paid and volunteer driving.

An opportunity has arisen to join our team on a modern dairy farm. Activities from diet mixing, field work and some stock work. Experience and Driving Licence necessary.
Loch Ken Trust Trustees Needed
There are currently a number of vacancies for Loch Ken Trust Trustees and the Trust is especially looking for people with expertise in environmental and educational work.
