Quantans Hill wind farm developer announce upcoming drop-in day
Developer Vattenfall have announced two ‘meet the developer’ events on Friday 21 April in Carsphairn and Dalry.
PRESS RELEASE FROM VATTENFALL:
Meet the developer drop-in day for Quantans Hill Wind Farm proposal
Local people invited to drop-in surgery style events in Carsphairn and St John’s town of Dalry on Friday April 21st
Opportunities to ask questions about Vattenfall’s Quantans Hill Wind Farm development following the submission of the 14 turbine proposal to planning last month.
People living in the Carsphairn and Dalry areas of Dumfries and Galloway are invited to ‘meet the developer’ drop-in sessions on Friday April 21st.
In February, Vattenfall submitted to planning proposals for a 14 turbine wind farm at Quantans Hill near Carsphairn. If consented, the project could increase Scotland’s renewable energy capacity by around 90MW and generate up to £16million-worth of community benefit funding for the local area. The scheme has also been designed with plans to create local jobs, invest in local heritage and improved outdoor access as well as significant local biodiversity improvements.
Matt Bacon, Project Manager for the Quantans Hill Onshore Wind Farm, said:
“Over the last two years, local feedback has helped us refine the design of the wind farm and now the project has been submitted to planning, we wanted to offer an opportunity for local people to meet our team and ask any questions they might have about the project.
“We’ll have our 3D computer animation showing how the wind farm might look from individual addresses across the area, and local consultants Natural Power will also be on hand to answer any technical questions. Anyone interested in finding out more about the potential community benefits funding, as well as jobs and business opportunities, can also meet the team and discuss future opportunities.”
The drop-in sessions are on 21 April, with the Vattenfall team at Carsphairn’s Lagwyne Hall from 10am to 12.30pm, then at Dalry Town Hall from 1.30pm to 3pm. Local people interested in finding out more are welcome to drop in to either session.
Alternatively the Quantans Hill project team can be contacted at quantanshill.windfarm@vattenfall.com.
