Local bird expert and enthusiast, Chris Rollie, will identify birds encountered by sight and sound, giving some insight into their habits and ecology, and banishing winter gloom.
Early January is a dreich time of short days and long nights. Our summer migrant birds are still far to the south, whilst we have winter birds from the frozen north to keep our resident birds company. This walk will follow the route of the circular Watson Walk along the Water of Ken, over Mulloch Hill and back to Dalry, with the option of a gentle, shorter return walk for anyone not wishing to 'breast the brae’ of the Mulloch.
