Ever wanted to be on the inside of the trad music in the pub?

Joining in, this is your invitation to dive deeper.

Join welcoming seasoned musicians who are passionate about sharing the heart and soul of Scottish and Irish traditional music. Through guided sessions, you’ll learn core melodies, rhythms, and techniques that form the backbone of the tradition. But it’s not just about the notes—you’ll also pick up the subtle tricks, stylistic flourishes, and cultural context that bring the music to life.

We’ll help you build a repertoire of essential session tunes, develop your ear, and gain the confidence to join in with others—whether in a cosy pub, a festival tent, or a living room jam. Along the way, you’ll connect with a community of fellow learners and tradition-bearers who are just as excited about the music as you are.

No pressure, no judgment—just great tunes, good company, and the joy of playing together. Come and find your place in the session.
