Glenkens Pilgrims’ Way

The Glenkens Pilgrims’ Way project was completed in January 2020 and consists of 7km of improvement works to revive the historic path route (known locally as the Pack Road) from Carsphairn to the deserted settlement of Polmaddy.

The improved path is proving to be a very popular walking route, starting over wild upland terrain with magnificent views of the Rhinns of Kells before progressing through peaceful forest planting to emerge at the atmospheric ruins of Polmaddy.
