Ellen Bielinski
Ellen studied conservation biology at Aberdeen University and since graduating has had various seasonal jobs up in Orkney and in Northumberland, mostly based around birds and seabird monitoring.
Her roles have included Assistant Warden, Coquet Island (RSPB) and Zoological Field Assistant for albatross with the British Antarctic Survey on Bird Island, South Georgia.
Ellen enjoys coming back home for the winter and reconnecting with the local community.
“There’s also a lot of events going on for such a small area. We’ve got the town hall has the local cinema group, once a month they show films. We had a pub quiz the other night. We’ve got a Hogmanay Ceilidh that I play at. So it’s a lot going on for such a small area.”
