Glenkens Jobs & Skills Fair
Glenkens residents of all ages visited Dalry School for the Skills and Jobs Fair on 30th September, with at least one potential job offer being made, and feedback from attendees was very positive; all of the respondents said that they would like to see the fair return as a regular event.
One employer commented:
"It’s clear from the attention to detail and thought put into the skills and jobs fair that there is a strong community spirit and desire from everyone living and working in [the Glenkens] to pull together to create an event of real value. There was a broad spectrum of organisations there, which gave people lots of choice when it came to talking to people and a chance to think about alternatives they maybe hadn’t considered as a career option."
Attendees commented on the fact that there is such a range of opportunities in the area, challenging the perception that living in a rural location like the Glenkens means compromising on career aspirations.
A brief interview with each of the employers was recorded on the day; click on the images below to see a brief description of the company or organisation, and find contact details or website links.
