Spook-tacular goings on at Lagwyne Hall

Children from all around the Glenkens joined the Carsphairn based children's group Bairn Banter for a haunting Halloween party in Lagwyne Hall on Saturday 28th November.

The group welcomed children of all ages to attend the party, free of charge.  Alongside the usual party games of musical statues, pass the parcel and a tricky-to-beat piñata, the children participated in a range of Halloween themed activities such as gruesome sensory play (resembling worms), a spooky soft play area, ‘dookin’ for apples, wrap the ‘mummy' and the hanging doughnut game. A creative area was also available for children to take a moment away from the bustle of the party, to enjoy a quiet colouring activity or themed playdough.

The voluntary run group put on a buffet style feast for the children and adults to enjoy as part of the annual celebration.

Bairn Banter’s founder, Melissa Ade commented: “It was wonderful to see so many children and adults come together to celebrate with us here at Bairn Banter.  I want to say a special thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy the party and to the very helpful parents, their help and support made the party such a spook-tacular event!”

The fundraising efforts from sales at the Carsphairn Community Market back in September were used to fund this fun, free party for our local families to enjoy.
