Road closure notifications from Dumfries & Galloway Council
Latest road works information from D&G Council now added each Friday to the home page.
Carriage way resurfacing in the area will result in a number of road closures in coming weeks. The works are weather dependent and subject to change. Residents are urged to check the map at https://www.roadworksscotland.org/ for up-to date details.
Balmaclellan
The C41s in Balmaclellan will be closed from 8th August to 14th August from 8am to 4.30pm daily for carriage way re-surfacing works.
Dalry
The A713 will be closed:
at the north end of Dalry on the 6th and 7th August from 8am to 4.30pm daily.
from the A702 junction to the 30mph limit signs north of Dalry, from 12th to 14th August from 7am to 4pm daily.
Crossmichael
The A713 will be closed in Crossmichael from 7am until 4pm on Fri 15/08/25 and will be re-open on Sat 16/08 and Sun 17/08. Works will re-commence on Monday 18/08 at 7am and will be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 7am and 4pm daily.
All going as planned, Friday will involve the planing of the existing surface to a depth of 45mm. Monday will see the re-setting of ironworks and some areas of deep patching works, Tuesday will see one half of the carriageway surfaced and Wednesday the other half of the carriageway surfaced.
Residents will have had a letter drop by end of today and it will have information as above albeit not in as much detail. The preferred method for residents on Main Street is to park out with the site during the day where possible and access will be resumed at the end of each working day. For those that cannot we have operatives on site controlling the traffic management and it was explained that if they ask for access, they will be provide it where it is safe to do so.
The extents of the closure will be from the junction with U152s St Michael's Road to the 30mph signs North of the village and this will be manned with traffic management operatives.
The main diversion route for southbound traffic will be via the A712 at Balmaclellan to A75 at Crocketford to A713 at Castle Douglas and vice versa. This will be mainly for HGV's. We will also have signs on the A75 at Ringford to give Northbound traffic a chance to divert to New Galloway and re-join the A713 at Ken Bridge.
It is expected that local traffic will use various U class and C class roads to manoeuvre around road closure.
Access to the shop / post office will be maintained for pedestrians at all times. Emergency access will be provided at all times.
