New base for Crossmichael Resilience Team

Active Resilience Crossmicahel

A group of enthusiastic Crossmichael residents of all ages have come together to ensure that there is someone on hand to help the community in an emergency.

It might be a flooded road, a fallen tree, power outages, a road accident or someone feeling very unwell - the team are trained to assist with many incidents, including with 999 call outs.

After achieving Bronze Recognition for their work, the Community Council has now gained funding for a new Active Resilience Crossmichael (ARC) hub in the village.

The ARC hub will be used as a base for all the equipment the Resilience Team needs, as well as a base for the community cycles which have been purchased with funding from SWestrans.

The community bikes will be available to hire to help our residents travel more easily around our community and will be stored and maintained at the ARC. The ARC container is next to the Memorial Hall, with close access to the Community Woodland.

Crossmichael Community Council said: “The residents of Crossmichael are very lucky to have an award winning Resilience Team! Come along to our opening party on Saturday 13th June to find out more!”
