Carsphairn Community Market fundraising success
Carsphairn Community Council and Bairn Banter held an enjoyable community market in Lagwyne Hall on Saturday 16th September as part of Glenkens Food Month.
Visitors from near and far gathered in the hall to sample a selection of local produce such as jams, chutneys and preserves, fresh fruit, vegetables, beautiful handmade cards and crafts, and even handmade carpets.
There were also fundraising stalls and a presentation from the Glenkens Food Hub.
A wonderful selection of cakes, traybakes and delicious delights were washed down with hot and cold beverages whilst visitors enjoyed the atmosphere of a pop-up café in the lounge seating area.
The children also revelled in the fun and free activities offered by Carsphairn children’s group Bairn Banter.
A fundraising table helped to raise money towards ongoing running costs of this group including its annual free Halloween party, taking place on 28th October.
Founder of Bairn Banter, Melissa Ade commented:
“We are very lucky to have such a supportive community here in Carsphairn, with many generous residents contributing to our fundraising table and producing a wonderful spread of delights to sell in aid of the voluntary run group.
With the proceeds raised from the sales table and the refreshments we raised a fabulous £151.01. On behalf of Bairn Banter, I want to say big thank you to everyone involved!”
