Dumfries and Galloway Council is inviting the public and interested stakeholders to participate in a consultation on the Draft Wind Energy Landscape Sensitivity Study Supplementary Guidance.

Wind2 is at the early stages of developing a planning application for its Lairdmannoch Energy Park near Laurieston (approximately 7km northeast of Gatehouse of Fleet and 10km west of Castle Douglas).

Scottish Power Energy Network (SPEN) are consulting on plans to introduce Community Benefit to support the communities impacted by increased power transmission infrastructure.

Scottish Power Energy Networks is proposing to construct a new 132kV substation on the A713 at Holm Hill, approximately 2.5km north-west of Carsphairn and 7.5 km south-east of Dalmellington.  

Erection of 8 wind turbines (Max height 200m to blade tip), 11km west of Moniaive And 8km east of Carsphairn.

Install & keep installed 5.9 km of 11 kV overhead line. Specifically, reinforcement of existing infrastructure and new infrastructure, supported on wood poles.

Erection of wind farm consisting of 9 wind turbines (max. height to blade tip 200m) 7km to the north-east of St Johns Town Of Dalry, Castle Douglas.

Erection of 7 wind turbines (up to 180m from base to blade tip) near Corsock.

A proposed development of up to 14 wind turbines, at up to 200 m in height to blade tip.

Wind Farm (generating station of >50 < 100 MW Capacity ).

Application for the development of up to 8 turbines of up to 200 m in height to tip and associated infrastructure located within Carsphairn Forest, Stewartry District, Dumfries and Galloway.
