SPEN - Holm Hill Substation


Holm Hill Substation plan

Scottish Power Energy Networks is proposing to construct a new 132kV substation on the A713 at Holm Hill, approximately 2.5km north-west of Carsphairn and 7.5 km south-east of Dalmellington.  

The proposed substation is needed to connect local wind farms to the electricity transmission network. This includes the Lorg Wind Farm and Quantans Hill Wind Farm. The development is currently at the design consultation stage with an application for planning permission to be prepared for submission to Dumfries and Galloway Council.

To be considered as part of this consultation, all feedback on the proposed Holm Hill Substation needs to be received by 12 noon on 13 September 2024. Feedback received after the deadline may not be considered.
