The Big River Watch

Big River Watch

Join us on Sunday 26th April from 10am - 3pm to help measure the health of our local river at Carsphairn Community Woodland. No prior knowledge or experience required, just come along and help us investigate on the day.

Free event. Refreshments and snacks provided

Accessibility: We will most likely stick to the woodland paths which are easier to navigate, however we may wonder off track where there could be low branches, steep terrain, muddy patches, etc.

What to bring:

  • Dress for the weather (e.g. warm, waterproof clothing and shoes)

  • Any supplies you might need such as reusable water bottle, lunch or a walking stick

  • Smart phone, if you have one

  • Download the Big River Watch app in advance if you can. We will use it for the river survey. A few paper copies will also be available.

Location:

  • OS grid reference: NX 614 903

  • What 3 words: remit.breed.chestnuts

  • Between Knowehead House and B7000
