Galloway Glens – Fish, Fisheries and Angler Survey in Loch Ken

Galloway Glens Landscape Partnership Commissioned Report undertaken by Galloway Fisheries Trust

The main objective of this study was to undertake an assessment of the condition of the fish stocks within Loch Ken, and the overall status of Loch Ken as an angling venue. Information iand data was collected via open, public stakeholder events, the distribution of an angler questionnaire, interviews with anglers fishing (creel surveys), seine netting and through catch sampling at angling matches. These data collection techniques were developed during the recent pilot project undertaken on Loch Ken in 2016.
