Coastal Woodlands Project Development – Contract Opportunity
Can you help the Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands Team with the development of exciting ‘Coastal Woodlands’ projects between November 2026 and March 2027?
The Solway Coast and Marine Landscape Connections Project (SCAMP) is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Dumfries & Galloway to draw in major national funding and deliver projects along the length of our coastline. Work is proceeding under a number of habitat headings, including ‘Coastal Woodlands’. Over recent months, a range of project development work has been kicked off, in topics including:
Coastal Woodland Creation & Management Support
Research opportunities and partnerships with Scientific institutions
Sustainable Deer Management
Tree Growing & Seed Collection opportunities
How our Coastal Woodlands can support the local economy
We are so grateful to the SCAMP team for agreeing an additional element of resource to allow the engagement of support during the next few busy months. This is primarily a)working up emerging project proposals to the next stage of development and b)starting to prepare for actual project delivery (scheduled for 2028 onwards)
The contract time is flexible on a week to week basis depending on other commitments, but for planning purposes would equate to a maximum of 3 days per week.
Submit expression of interest by: 9am on 2nd November 2026.
