Theft from Mossdale village

The car park collection box in Mossdale village has been stolen, robbing the community of a valuable source of funds. The box was ripped from the housing and taken away completely.

Location of the donation box before the theft.

Villagers and visitors who enjoy the facilities had been able to make donations to support the work of the volunteers who keep the village hall, picnic area and car park neat and usable. Village volunteers, who donate their time for free, are sorely disappointed about the theft of the donated money, all of which could have helped fund their valuable work.

They said:

The money in that collection box was generously donated by visitors who have chosen to support the work we do.

As the money was donated voluntarily, it is difficult to give an accurate estimate of how much has been stolen. Volunteers also now have to find money to replace the box so they can continue to raise funds.

For anyone wishing to donate to support the Mossdale picnic area and walks, please contact Pamela Bowes on 07740774013 or pamela.bowes@hotmail.co.uk.
