New South of Scotland Responsible Tourism Strategy consultation

A Responsible Tourism Strategy for the South of Scotland is being proposed by the South of Scotland Destination Alliance (SSDA), VisitScotland, South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE), Scottish Borders Council and Dumfries & Galloway Council.

The group aims to create a single strategy for the whole south of Scotland region, building on previous work and aligning with Scotland’s overall tourism strategy 'Scotland Outlook 2030'.

They aim to to have the process complete, and the strategy and action plan agreed by all parties by the end of 2023 and are now inviting all interested businesses, organisations, communities and individuals to take part in the consultation.

The consultation will take the form of an online survey, 13 thematic/sectoral Zoom meetings and 14 in-person meetings, the nearest being at Galloway Activity Centre on 10th August, or Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries on 15th August.

You can find an overview and full list of consultation events on the South of Scotland Regional Economic Partnership website or see the consultation section here.
