Living and Working in the Glenkens: Skills and Jobs Fair showcases local career opportunities in the Glenkens

Glenkens Skills & Jobs Fair 1 week to go

Young people, career changers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested are invited to meet employers and find out about the wealth of careers available in and around the Glenkens at the event, which takes place from 4-6pm at Dalry Secondary School on 30th September.

Employers attending include those from land-based sectors, energy & renewables and civil engineering, to careers in the care sector or opportunities with other small local businesses. Information about apprenticeships and training roles will also be available.

The event, which is being organised by the Glenkens Community and Arts Trust in partnership with Dalry School Parents Association and Dalry Secondary School, has been funded by DG Works, the Local Employability Partnership.

Helen Keron, Chief Exec of the Glenkens Community and Arts Trust, said:

“Being able to work in high quality jobs locally is key to thriving communities. We wanted to showcase the breadth of opportunities across a whole range of industries that are available to young people and adult career-changers in the area, so we’re delighted to have such a range of employers coming along. Many thanks to DG Works for the support that has made this possible and to the School and Parent Council for the partnership working.”

Admission to the Skills and Jobs Fair is free, and drinks and snacks will be available. Pop in any time and find out about the range of careers available in the Glenkens. You may be surprised!

And if you are a local Glenkens employer and would like to take part, it’s not too late - contact GCATProjects@gmail.com for more information.
