Join the Wassail at Dalry Library Micro-Orchard

The Pollinators Project continues into 2026 with a celebration of orchards! Come and join in the Wassail at Dalry Library Micro-Orchard, on 1st February - also traditionally Imbolc marking the end of the winter.

Dalry Community Wassail

A Wassail is a community event for young and old. The idea is to wear bright colours and costumes and bring things to make a BIG noise - pots to bang, drums, whistles, horns and more, to wake the trees chase away malevolent spirits!

We'll be blessing the trees with apple juice, toast and ribbons, to ensure good health and harvest for the year ahead.

There will be songs to learn and sing together, apple and Imbolc crafts, hot mulled apple juice (and maybe some cider) and cake! If there's time we can process to the Dalry School Garden and do it all over again!

Helpers are needed - cake bakers, crafters and musicians, morris dancers, poem and invocation readers - please get in touch with Abi via abi@propagate.org.uk or 07340 531506 if you want to be involved.

This event is supported by the Galloway Glens Legacy Fund.
