Glenkens Community Spaces Network celebrates its second year of operation

Glenkens Community Spaces Network was created by GCAT in early 2023 to provide a forum for the management committees of our village halls, town halls, community centres and other community spaces to come together to share ideas, successes and issues. The Network meets every other month, visiting a different community venue each time.

Alongside the Network's core purpose of supporting the management committees of Glenkens Community Spaces, opportunities arose in 2024 to support other projects, including Local Place Plan development and resilience work. Strengthened partnerships between community space volunteers in the Glenkens has led to sharing of support, expertise and equipment. Full details of the Network's activities over 2024 can be seen in the Annual Report.

Thanks to the Glenkens and District Community Fund, administered through Foundation Scotland, for funding the Network for a further year into 2025, and also to all the hardworking volunteers whose time and energy goes into looking after our fantastic network of halls and other community spaces!
