Local Initiatives New Galloway (LING)
Local Initiatives in New Galloway (LING) is a small charity aiming to promote rural regeneration for the benefit of the community by:
Maintaining and improving public spaces and facilities
Providing recreational activities for all
Preserving historic or architecturally important buildings, like New Galloway Town Hall
We took ownership of the Town Hall from Dumfries and Galloway Council on behalf of the community in 2022. Now that it has been fully refurbished, the hall is able to play a central role in village life, used for a whole host of activities which can be found on our website.
We also manage several outdoor spaces: the network of woodland paths around New Galloway golf course; a walled garden on the Garroch Estate; and, most recently, a Community Garden next to New Galloway’s play park.
If you would like to know more or become a LING member (which is free!), please email info@ling.org.uk and we’ll be in touch!
LING is a Scottish Charity (SC04553) regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
