We are launching Lochhill Volunteers!
Lochhill is a community led farm. Alongside our farm enterprises and education programme, we want to offer an opportunity to muck in and get your hands dirty! We'll be hosting volunteer days throughout the year which in addition to being helpful for us, will also be an informal learning and knowledge sharing opportunity. We want the community to be part of shaping this journey as the farm develops and grows.
All tools and equipment, support and guidance will be provided. We'll also make you lunch!
Likely jobs afoot include:
Mulching and pruning in the orchard
Clearing out the building to house the milking parlour
Strimming
Cleaning and repainting the name sign
Preparing area for market garden
Cattle wrangling
Making and painting new signs
And more!
We want to make sure people have an opportunity to share their skills, or if there's something you particularly want to learn about please let us know. There's space in the registration form to add this information.
Please make sure to register so we know how many to expect. And tell your friends!
Please note that Lochhill is a farm, and at the moment much of this is not very accessible for people with mobility issues. It is uneven, and muddy when wet! We have livestock, including Shetland cattle and chickens.
