Introduction to sketchbooking and observational drawing

Sketchbooking at Lothlorien

Sketchbooking can help develop a sense of self, as you let your creative expression guide you, whilst observational drawing helps you tune into, and take notice of your surroundings.

They act as a visual diary, as you observe and connect with the world around you through drawing and other creative practices. What better place than the Therapeutic Gardens of Lothlorien.

In this workshop, you will be given your own sketchbook to take home, as well as a set of natural art materials, handmade by Old Mill Arts, to use throughout the workshop. You will be guided through a set of activities to free up your own artistic style, using the therapy gardens as inspiration and relaxation.

This workshop is open to everyone, no matter where you are in your creative journey. Open to beginners who are looking for new ways to find creative wellbeing, or for seasoned artists who would enjoy time in the garden experimenting with a new material or artform.
