Dumfries House, part of the Kings Foundation, is set in 2,000 acres of parkland which contains riverside gardens, an ornamental arboretum, a significant walled garden and numerous areas of buildings which includes craft centres and cafes.
The 18th century house contains an unrivalled collection of Chippendale furniture which are exhibited in the many grand rooms.
The arboretum contains more than 500 specimen trees, in addition it contains many hundreds of native shrubs. The arboretum links the Robert Adam designed Avenue Bridge with the walled garden.
The Queen Elizabeth walled garden is the flag ship project of the estate renovation. The five acre walled garden is one of the biggest in Scotland and contains formal terraces, greenhouses, herbaceous borders together with a fruit orchard and vegetable gardens.
