Join us at the farm to listen to the joys of Spring, with ecologist Crystal Maw.

The woodlands, hedges and meadows are waking up! At Lochhill we are blessed with a diverse mix of habitat that is home to loads of birds species. For this one off special event we'll be guided through the dawn chorus, listening to and learning different bird songs and calls of the morning. Expect to be mesmerized, educated and inspired!

Crystal Maw is an independent ecologist who formerly worked for RSPB in Dumfries and Galloway. She carried out a comprehensive survey in 2025 that built on a farmland bird survey from 2011. 

Hot drinks and snacks are included. This event includes walking across farmland, please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
