Natural Flood Management Scoping Study

Galloway Glens Landscape Partnership Commissioned Report undertaken by Natural Power

Exploring the feasibility of undertaking Natural Flood Management measures in the area to reduce the impact of flooding, reconnecting the river with the floodplain. The report highlights potential opportunities for NFM measures but these are subject to a number of complex considerations such as suitability in landscape terms, landowner approval and require a scale of operation not immediately possible through the Galloway Glens Scheme. As a result, the study and related flood model will be used to inform a smaller education and facilitation project through the delivery phase.
