GCAT has sourced funding from the South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) for an evolution of the Glenkens Hub with a particular focus on depopulation mitigation.

The project will assess the impact of an additional webpage on the Hub, drawing on the success of the Uist Beò website in the Outer Hebrides that is addressing depopulation by changing narratives around rural communities.

Another key component of the project, and the subject of this tender, is the generation of creative content that can enhance Glenkens Hub reach and impact, not least among younger audiences. The aim is to shine a spotlight on the very positive reasons why young people choose to live and work in the Glenkens and in doing so, to be an advert for the Glenkens in particular and rural South of Scotland living in general.

The client for this role will be Helen Keron, the GCAT Chief Executive, but the work will be delivered under the guidance of Gail Challis, the Glenkens Hub Digital Editor, and the Glenkens Gazette sub-committee. There will be additional support available from the Uist Beò digital content creators.

This tender is open to individuals who have the time and capacity to create the content within the required timescale. It is also open to partnership bids. The tender fee will be paid to the lead partner on the basis of successful delivery, but that lead partner could sub-contract to other partners if required. If this model is embraced, note the preference for inclusion of lived-experience of engaging content for under-30 year audiences.
