Vattenfall connects at Chamber of Commerce event
PRESS RELEASE FROM VATTENFALL
The developer of Scotland’s largest onshore wind farm currently under construction will be in New Galloway on Thursday 1st June to connect with more local businesses.
Over the past three years, Vattenfall has been constructing South Kyle Wind Farm north of Carsphairn, a 240MW fifty turbine investment in the green economy. Vattenfall’s focus on maximising local opportunities has seen the construction programme support hundreds of local jobs and spend millions with businesses across the south west.
With the South Kyle construction programme nearing its conclusion, Vattenfall is building on this local approach, creating more opportunities for local businesses with a pipeline of projects including the proposed Quantans Hill Wind Farm in Dumfries and Galloway, which, if consented, is expected to be under construction 2025-27.
To help connect with more local businesses, they’ve teamed up with Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce for a networking event.
Matthew Bacon, Vattenfall’s Project Manager for Quantans Hill Wind Farm, said:
“Our approach at South Kyle Wind Farm has demonstrated than an onshore renewables project can bring significant opportunities to local businesses across a wide range of sectors and industries well beyond the core civil and electrical engineering specialists. With further Vattenfall projects in the pipeline, including Quantans Hill Wind Farm in Dumfries and Galloway, we’re keen to connect with even more local businesses, and lift the lid on how smaller businesses especially can get involved in major project supply chains.”
The networking event takes place at New Galloway’s Catstrand from 6pm to 7.30pm and can be booked at Calendar Detail Provided By RubiCRM.
