Join Jim for One Big Thank You

Crossmichael resident Jim McLelland will be spending the day in Carlingwark Park, Castle Douglas, on Sunday 28 July to raise funds for local NHS staff and services.

One Big Thank You poster

Jim has committed to matching the NHS workers' 12-hour work shift by walking, jogging and running during the course of the day, from 6am to 6pm. The day will be filled with fun and celebration, providing a chance show appreciation to all NHS staff, from the support services and catering teams to the porters, secretaries, nurses, doctors, consultants and steadfast team of volunteers.

Jim says:

"Please come along to support me in raising funds for the NHS charity and staff, who are there for each of us in our time of need. Let’s recognise their hard work, which often accompanies our darkest times of worry or pain. While many of us may not have required their services to date, we never know what the future holds – for ourselves or for our loved ones."

Could you afford to donate, or perhaps to do some fundraising yourself? If everyone in the region gave just £1 each, over £100,000 would be raised! Some fundraising ideas are holding a sponsored walk, run, swim, cycle or a local event such as a quiz night, darts match, bingo evening, coffee morning or karaoke night.

Jim says:

"Money raised will go to the D&G Health Board Endowment Fund charity to be used to provide the extras above and beyond what the NHS can provide, giving support where it is needed the most.

Please accept this warm invitation to be a part of this special community appreciation; we express grateful thanks to all sponsors who have already pledged donations to this remarkable challenge which could benefit us all."
